Meeting between Uzbek Leasing International JSC and Meezan Bank (Pakistan)
On February 5, 2026, a meeting was held at the office of JSC “Uzbek Leasing International” with representatives of one of Pakistan’s leading Islamic financial institutions — Meezan Bank.
The meeting was attended by the following representatives of Meezan Bank:
- Mr. Muhammad Farhan ul Haq Usmani — Head of Shariah Audit, Executive Vice President;
- Mr. Syed Tariq Ali — Head of Investment Banking & Shariah Advisory, Executive Vice President;
- Mr. Syed Yasir Ali — Head of Financial Institutions & Correspondent Banking, Executive Vice President.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed:
- Pakistan’s experience, particularly Meezan Bank’s practice in transforming conventional banks and leasing companies into Islamic financial institutions;
- Opportunities for organizing and conducting Islamic finance training programs for leasing companies in Uzbekistan.
The meeting marked an important step toward studying international experience and developing Islamic finance in the leasing sector of the country.
